Ecostop function wins award at Sommet de l’Élevage show
Manitou Group was awarded the Sommet d’Or at the Sommet de l’Elevage show in Clermont-Ferrand. The prize was awarded for the Ecostop function available on the MLT telehandler range. With this option, the engine shuts off automatically when idling, thus reducing the total cost of ownership for the user.
The Sommet de l'Élevage, the European show for livestock professionals, organizes the Sommets d’Or competition each year. The event rewards a number of innovations in eight distinct categories. 70 applications were submitted for this new edition, with only 13 of them winning awards. Among those, the Ecostop function was a winner in the machinery category. The members of the jury chose this option based on fuel economy and engine preservation.
Thanks to the data collection made possible by our connected machines, we have found that the engine spends 15% to 30% of the total operating time idling. Based on 15%, for one machine used for 1,000 hours per year, the Ecostop function will enable the purchaser to save €1,500 in the first year!
